Cybersecurity: The Bureau des Légendes helps the government raise awareness among the French

The government hopes to make an impression by using the French spy series for a prevention campaign against cyber threats.

In the middle of work, they are called by relatives – an uncle, a mother, a brother – who ask them for advice on how to react to various situations: a file that has disappeared on a professional computer that you are not sure you have. does the backup? The person contacted tells them what to do and especially not to do and refers them to ANSSI (the national information systems security agency) or the gendarmerie. Each time, the same concluding message: “In the face of the cyber threat, you don’t need to know someone at the Legends Office. Let’s adopt the right reflexes“. Among these reflexes: strengthening your passwords, updating your devices and software, regularly backing up your data in a secure cloud and external media, separating your personal and professional uses in teleworking and being vigilant to any email that requests contact details. personal.

Result of a conversation between the producer of Legends office, Alex Berger and the Secretary of State for Digital, the idea materialized in three weeks. “We used the sets we had for an Escape Game, mobilized the actors who were available and an author. Production funded half of the budget

The manufacturing budget (design, shoot and edit) amounted to 80,000 euros, half financed by the government and the other half by the company TOP-The Oligarchs Productions, producer of the Legends office. «I made the decision to return the elevator. We are an independent production, we have received assistance from the National Cinematography Center (CNC) and agreements with various ministries for the filming of the series. It was our turn to contribute in the best possible way“Explains Alex Berger. The spots will initially be broadcast on social networks.

Faced with the upsurge in cyber attacks, which have quadrupled over the past year for those concerning ransomware, the government and ANSSI want to insist on the right actions in terms of digital hygiene. This prevention campaign is part of, presented Thursday by Emmanuel Macron. It is intended to strengthen the cybersecurity of sensitive public actors, but more generally to raise the level of protection in France.

The government also wishes to raise awareness of the reference platform, such as the government assistance system for victims of cyber-malicious acts, and to enable the French to identify the right intermediaries.
