After returning to the Czech Republic, after several years at the Academy of Sciences, he started a business and after many years, together with his colleagues and colleagues, he led his large – scale lithium batteries of his own design. His company HE3DA (Prochzka is, of course, only a minority owner) in Letany, Prague, on Monday, December 19, inaugurated the operation of a line for the serial production of lithium batteries according to his patent. Its goal is to penetrate the big game on this table to drive the emerging market and become a supplier of technology and batteries for the world.
We wrote about the technology with which the company wants to succeed in the previous article, it is basically a lithium battery with a simplified construction. It uses a very strong electrode in macroscopic rather than microscopic dimensions, and according to its creators should therefore be robust and very cheaply to manufacture.
Jan Prochzka demonstrates the thermal resistance of a separator (membrane separating electrodes) from a HE3DA battery. It is made by Pardam (two Kertka Nantechnology) and is a special chemical oxide – which means that it is much better resistant to thermal stress than classic separtors made of organic materials.
This should be a great advantage of the new technology. When the line was opened, the company’s goal was to reduce production costs below one hundred dollars (approx. 2,500 crowns) per kilowatt hour in all operations (ie not in Letany, but in subsequent lines) (in our previous line, Jan Prochzka talked about 150 dollars per kWh ). For comparison, battery home systems are sold on the Czech market at a price from you, about 15 thousand per kWh in.
The so-called 3D batteries from HE3DA should also have a natural advantage against white lithium (Li-on) batteries. Bn batteries are used to separate the positive and positive electrodes of plastic membranes (so-called separtors), which are damaged at relatively low temperatures. Which in turn leads to the risk of short-circuiting the battery, its protection and destruction (in the worst case, explosive). HE3DA is one of the types of batteries that use inorganic membranes, in this particular a layer made of very thin fibers of chemical oxide, which can withstand temperatures of about a thousand degrees.
Production from the aircraft line can reach a capacity of around 10 MWh, but its main purpose is not production. It is a trial and testing pilot plant, where both investors and others can show how the technology works, or try new methods for the production of all types of lines. The first production in January should go to investors and certified companies.

The types of batteries are intended primarily for energy use (balancing systems for renewable sources), but this will be the case in advance of all lines with a capacity of 5kWh, which should be produced in the coming years in an unbuilt downpipe in the industry of František in Horn Such in the Karviná region. . A small investor had a large investment in the billion-dollar project, a total of about 100 million euros, but one investor had to invest in the project, but according to caloric information, it still failed to reach the end. But the participation in the project is still due to the Israeli capital, so according to HE3DA, the construction should be filled in full in the next year.
In other parts, the Czech company would like to focus, in addition to its own production, mainly on the sale of the technology itself to other companies. It should be simplified for those interested to sell specific projects for the construction of other production lines according to their needs and requirements, and the main income should therefore come from their own licensed technology.
From Holeovice dog Seychelles to Letan
The birth of the construction came from Prochzkov’s experiments in 2009. The company first tuned the technology in the cracks in Holeovice, then the development moved to the bottom of the premises in Letany. There, development work took place there, which was supposed to enable serial production, for example on the encapsulated line.

At that time, the company merged with its main investor and today the current owner Radomre Prus. The owner of the Moravian Exelsior Group, which processes plastic waste, became acquainted with Prochzka from exile in the Seychelles (he sought a better type of battery for the ship), from where he demanded the cancellation of his arrest for three years for allegations of fraud. This year, he ran into the Czech Republic, so the owner of HE3DA (actually about 70 percent) took part.
According to the joint vision of Pruse and Prochzky, the links were primarily used in the energy sector, primarily as a balancing battery for renewable sources. In the future, the plant is also going to be used for electric cars, but here it is probably safe that the development of such a battery will take some time. Car lines must not only be safe, but so very robust, and their development (and consequently their ability by car manufacturers) is nothing out of the ordinary.
It is important to note that HE3DA did not expect this, but probably the majority of observers expected it, so it would be necessary to depreciate them in advance. They will definitely not have it easy. The batteries are different today, research is taking place around the world, the competition is great and will increase.
